What is Hypnotherapy?

candle

Hypnotherapy is, put quite simply, the process of using Hypnosis in a clinical setting, for treating a wide range of psychological and physiological problems.

How can it help me?

By accessing deeper levels of the mind, beneficial changes can be made that affect a person’s behaviour patterns and responses.

What Happens?

During Hypnosis, (or the trance state, more accurately), you are completely relaxed, and yet your mind remains curiously aware, (so it is not to be confused with sleep, or for that matter a loss of control).

Hypnosis is a concentrated focus of attention where the subject’s unconscious mind is more easily accessed and in the hands of a skilled, and ethical practitioner the process of change takes place.

There is no need for concern about being controlled or manipulated. Nobody can be made to do anything that would run against their normal moral code whilst in trance. In addition, members of the BSCH are bound by a stringent code of conduct.

Clinical Applications of Hypnosis

I use Hypnosis not only for medical purposes but also as an aid for the resolution of many problems of psychological origin. Hypnotherapy is often successful where other conventional methods of treatment have failed.

Phobias (A Specialism)

A phobia can have the most profoundly negative effect on a person’s life. Yet often people suffer them, sometimes for many years, little realising that the problem can be dealt with… in fact, eradicated with just a little investment in time and determination. I have helped many individuals rid themselves of debilitating phobias over the years, whether it be fear of flying, (aviophobia or aviatophobia), agoraphobia, fear of open spaces or of being in crowded public places, like markets), emetophobia, (fear of vomit), etc. The list is endless… I always treat clients seriously and respectfully, understanding the impact a phobia can have on a person’s life.
